x Heucherella 'Sweet Tea' (Foamy Bells) is a compact perennial forming a bold mound of maple-like, palmately-lobed rich apricot-orange leaves adorned with contrasting burgundy veins. Brightly sunset-colored in spring, the foliage darkens to deep cinnamon in the summer and winter. In early summer, small fluffy white flowers are borne on slender stems rising up to 20 in. (50 cm) above the foliage. One of the best foamy bells for shady woodland gardens, containers, or mixed borders. Evergreen in mild climates.

  • Grows up to 20-27 in. tall (50-68 cm) with a spread of 28 in. (70 cm).
  • Performs best in fertile, moist, but well-drained soil in sun or partial shade. If the soil is moist, a shadier position may be tolerated. Mulch annually.
  • A spectacular addition to beds and borders, and woodland gardens and is ideal as a groundcover, edger along paths, or in containers. Fabulous when planted in groups!
  • Remove stems of faded flowers and dead leaves.
  • Keep an eye out for vine weevils and rust diseases.
  • Can be propagated by division. Lift the plant once in spring growth, taking small vigorous sections from around the edge. Each section should have good roots and 2-3 shoots.
  • Divide every few years.
