Tiarella Sugar and Spice (Foam Flower)

Noted for its handsome foliage and profuse blooms, Tiarella 'Sugar and Spice' (Foam Flower) is a compact herbaceous perennial forming a shinny clump of lacy, fresh green leaves adorned with striking dark purple markings on each of their lobes. In mid to late spring, wands of lightly fragrant, frosted pink flowers with a white interior are borne above the foliage. Use as a groundcover in the woodland or shade garden. Good under shrubs or roses. Evergreen in mild winter climates.

• Grows up to 8-12 in. tall and wide (20-30 cm).
• Performs best in cool, moist, humus-rich, well-drained soil in partial shade or full shade. Protect from excessive winter wet.
• A pretty addition to beds and borders, woodland gardens, cottage gardens or rock gardens. Great as a groundcover, for edging or underplanting shrubs and roses.
• Generally pest and disease free. Keep an eye out for slugs and powdery mildews. Deer resistant.
• Propagate by division in spring.
