Noted for its large leaves, Tiarella 'Candy Striper' (Foam Flower) is a compact herbaceous perennial forming a lush clump of lacy, bright green leaves adorned with a dark stippled stripe down each leaf lobe. The foliage turns rich bronzy-purple in cold weather. In mid to late spring, charming pink-tinged flower buds gracefully evolve into starry, creamy white flowers on 3 in. long racemes (7 cm). Use as a ground cover in the woodland or shade garden. Good under shrubs or roses. Evergreen in mild winter climates.

  • Grows up to 10-12 in. tall (25-30 cm) and 16 in. wide (40 cm).
  • Performs best in cool, moist, humus-rich, well-drained soil in partial shade or full shade. Protect from excessive winter wet.
  • A pretty addition to beds and borders, woodland gardens, cottage gardens or rock gardens. Great as a groundcover, for edging or underplanting shrubs and roses.
  • Generally pest and disease free. Keep an eye out for slugs and powdery mildews. Deer resistant.
  • Propagate by division in spring.
