The foliage turns stunning shades of pinks, reds, purples, and blacks during the winter. In mid to late spring, charming pink-tinged flower buds gracefully evolve into starry, creamy white flowers on 3 in. long racemes (7 cm). Use as a groundcover in the woodland or shade garden. Good under shrubs or roses. Evergreen in mild winter climates.
- Grows up to 8-12 in. tall (20-30 cm) and 12 in. wide (30 cm).
- Performs best in cool, moist, humus-rich, well-drained soil in partial shade or full shade. Protect from excessive winter wet.
- A pretty addition to beds and borders, woodland gardens, cottage gardens or rock gardens. Great as a groundcover, for edging or underplanting shrubs and roses.
- Generally pest and disease free. Keep an eye out for slugs and powdery mildews. Deer resistant.
- Propagate by division in spring.
