Geranium (Cinereum Group) Ballerina (Ashy Cranesbill)

Noted for its long flowering season, award-winning Geranium (Cinereum Group) ‘Ballerina’ (Cranesbill) is a compact herbaceous perennial which produces a profusion of slightly cupped, pale pink flowers, adorned with deep purple veins and a dark blotch at the base of each petal. The dainty blossoms rise atop a low-growing mound of rounded, deeply lobed, gray-green leaves. This Cranesbill is a perfect addition to rock gardens, borders, or containers.

  • Performs best in full sun or part shade, in well-drained soils. This Geranium is not fussy about soils provided they are well-drained. Sensitive to summer heat and humidity.

  • Watch for vine weevil, sawflies, powdery mildew or downy mildew
  • Shear plants by half in midsummer if flowering stops, to encourage bushy growth and repeat blooming in fall.
