Loropetalum chinense Purple Daydream® (Chinese Fringe Flower)

Loropetalum chinense Purple Daydream® (Chinese Fringe Flower) is a dwarf, bushy, evergreen shrub of mounding growth habit with dark purple leaves which persist all year round. In spring, it produces abundant clusters of bright pink, spidery flowers, each with narrow, twisted, inch-long petals. The vibrant blossoms create a lovely contrast against the dark foliage. This petite evergreen shrub is perfect as an accent or in mass plantings. It makes a lovely hedge along the entryway and looks great in perennial borders or in containers. Perfect for small gardens.

• Grows up to 2-3 ft. tall (60-90 cm) and 3-4 ft. wide (90-120 cm).
• Full sun to part shade lover, this plant is easily grown in humus-rich, fertile, moist, well-drained soils. Best flower production and leaf color in full sun, although this plant appreciates some afternoon shade. Shelter from cold winds and provide winter protection. Drought tolerant once established.
• Virtually pest and disease free. Deer resistant.
• Extremely versatile, the Chinese Fringe Flower may be used as a specimen plant or in small groups. Perfect for foundation plantings, beds and borders, hedges and screens, or containers.
