Rosa Oso Easy Double Red® (Groundcover Rose)

Self-cleaning and very disease resistant, Rosa Oso Easy Double Red is a lush mounding shrub rose boasting a profusion of deep red double flowers. The blossoms are held on long stems, well above the healthy, glossy dark green foliage. Thanks to its excellent resistance to powdery mildew and black spot, this shrub rose remains great-looking all season long.

  • Grows up to 36-48 in. tall and wide (90-120 cm).
  • Best grown in full sun in fertile, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil. For best flowering apply a balanced fertilizer and mulch in late winter or early spring and a balanced fertilizer again in early summer. Salt tolerant.
  • An excellent choice for beds and borders, city gardens, coastal gardens, cottage gardens, or as a colorful groundcover.
  • Keep an eye out for aphids, rose leafhoppers, scale insects, caterpillars, large rose sawflies, rose leaf-rolling sawflies, black spots, rose rust, and rose powdery mildew.
  • Pruning is generally not needed, but this shrub may be shaped in spring. It does not need spraying.
  • Propagate by hardwood cuttings in autumn or by chip budding in summer.
