Malus Kelsey (Crabapple)

Very beautiful in bloom, Malus ‘Kelsey’ is an upright, broad-rounded deciduous tree with a profusion of fragrant, semi-double to double, rose-red to purple-red flowers in mid-spring, before the leaves. The blooms are adorned with white markings at the base of each of their 16 petals. They are followed by abundant dark purple fruits that persist all winter, adding color and providing food to the birds.

Emerging reddish in spring, the foliage becomes bronze-green in summer and turns attractive shades of yellow and orange in fall. Extremely hardy, this flowering crabapple enjoys a good resistance to scab and rust.
