Opening from crimson buds, masses of fragrant, deep rose-red, single flowers appear in mid-spring, just as the foliage is unfolding. Draped in clusters along the branches, they provide a truly spectacular display. The flowers are followed by abundant glossy, bright red fruits, 3/4 in. A beautiful ornamental tree for small gardens with good disease resistance.
