Malus Camelot (Crabapple)

A lovely dwarf Crabapple, Malus 'Camelot' is a small deciduous tree of rounded form with a long season of interest. Opening from red buds, masses of fragrant, white blossoms adorned with fuchsia-pink tinges on their petals, appear in mid-spring, just as the foliage is unfolding. The flowers are followed by abundant, small, rich burgundy fruits that mature in fall and may persist into winter. Attractive to birds, the fruits can be harvested for jellies. Emerging with a burgundy tinge in spring, the thick, leathery, dark green leaves turn gold in the fall. The small stature of this elegant crabapple makes it a perfect ornamental choice for the garden, including small gardens. Disease resistant.

• Grows up to 10 ft. tall (300 cm) and 8 ft. wide (240 cm).
• A full sun lover, this tree is easily grown in moderately fertile, well-drained soils. Once established, it is drought tolerant.
• Perfect as a specimen plant, in city gardens or cottage gardens.
• Require only minimal pruning in late winter, to remove damaged, diseased, or misplaced growth.
• Toxic to dogs, toxic to cats, toxic to horses.
