Ligustrum x vicaryi Golden Ticket® (Vicary Privet)

The first non-invasive privet, Ligustrum x vicaryi Golden Ticket® (Vicary Privet) is a compact, deciduous shrub with glossy foliage that emerges bright yellow and ages to chartreuse. Panicles of small, white flowers appear at the stem tips in mid to late spring.  Very adaptable and easy to grow, this deer-resistant shrub is an excellent choice for hedging, screening, and landscaping.

  • Grows up to 4-6 ft. tall and wide (120-180 cm).
  • Performs best in full sun or part shade, in average, dry to medium, well-drained soils. The foliage color will be best in full sun.
  • Keep an eye out for aphids, leaf-mining moths, thrips, and leaf spot. Does not need heavy pruning, but will tolerate it if tight, formal shapes are desired. Prune to shape after flowering. Apply a controlled-release fertilizer in early spring
  • All parts may cause severe discomfort if ingested.
  • Toxic to dogs, toxic to cats, toxic to horses.
