Salvia Wendys Wish (Sage)

Noted for its long blooming season and citrus scent, Salvia 'Wendy's Wish' (Sage) is a clump-forming perennial featuring showy spikes of large, loose clusters of magenta-pink flowers, emerging from papery, dusty pink bracts. Blooming from late spring to fall, the blossoms rise along dark red stems, well above the foliage of mid-green glossy leaves, 2 in. long (5 cm), overlaying maroon veining. Easy and fast-growing, this plant is a favorite of butterflies and hummingbirds. An excellent plant for a container or in border plantings.

• Tender, this plant is hardy to zone 9 and is generally treated as an annual in cooler areas.
• Grows with a slightly open habit, up to 3-4 feet tall and wide (90-120 cm).
• Enjoys full sun in average, medium moisture, well-drained soils. Tolerates some shade in hot climates.
• Deer resistant, heat and drought tolerant.
• No pruning required, but removing faded flower stems will prolong flowering.
