Rosmarinus officinalis Barbecue (Rosemary)

Rosmarinus officinalis ‘Barbecue’ (Rosemary) is an attractive, upright evergreen shrub with strong, stiff stems densely covered with very aromatic, needle-like green leaves. Profuse clusters of small light blue flowers appear from summer through to fall. Easy to maintain and undemanding, Barbecue Rosemary is a great candidate for hedges, screens, herb gardens, and waterwise gardens. The leaves are good for cooking and can be used fresh or dried to flavor dishes.

  • Easily grown in moderately fertile, well-drained soils in full sun but will tolerate some shade. Drought tolerant once established.

  • No serious pest or disease issues.
  • Attractive to bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds, however, deer dislike rosemary's strong scent.
  • Propagate by division in spring and by semi-ripe cuttings in summer.
  • Cut back flower spikes to prolong flowering
