Rosa Teasing Georgia (English Rose)

Recipient of multiple awards collected in the UK and around the world, including the Henry Edland Medal in 2000 for the best-scented variety, English Rose Teasing Georgia is not only pleasantly fragrant but is also one of the most refined and robust golden roses. Replete with large, cup-shaped flowers (100 petals), it provides a delightful two-tone effect: a rich, golden yellow center beautifully framed by pale yellow outer petals.

  • Bred by David Austin, 'Teasing Georgia' makes a striking statement in the garden and is an invaluable element of the mixed border. An excellent choice for beds, borders, or as a flowering hedge. Spectacular when combined with the cool blue colors of salvia, nepeta, or lavender.
  • Plant it where you will be able to enjoy its perfume daily: near a doorway, along a path, near your patio or deck. Excellent cut flowers.
  • Reliable and easy to grow, this rose blooms in flushes from late spring until frost and is an excellent repeat bloomer with good resistance to diseases.
  • A strong but graceful grower, 4 ft tall and across (120 cm), it can be encouraged to climb up to 8 ft. (240 cm).
  • Best grown in full sun or partial shade in rich, fertile with adequate moisture, well-drained soils.
  • Recipient of the prestigious Award of Garden Merit of the Royal Horticultural Society.
  • Introduced in 1998, this rose has been named for Mr. Ulrich Meyer, after his wife Georgia, both of whom are well-known media personalities in Germany.
  • David Austin’s English Roses combine the flower forms and perfume of Old Roses with the color range and repeat-flowering habits of modern roses. As a Rose breeder, David Austin’s achievement is in marrying the romantic “English Rose” look with reliable garden performance, vigorous growth, full bushes, disease resistance, and prolific season-long bloom. Over 200 English Roses have been released since 1961, many of them receiving the highest rewards.
