Rosa Mme Caroline Testout (Climbing Rose)

Reliable, profuse and a recurrent bloomer, Rosa ‘Mme Caroline Testout’ produces masses of voluptuous, goblet-shaped, double flowers, in shades of bright and cheerful silvery pink, with rolled edges to the petals

Reliable, profuse and a recurrent bloomer, Rosa 'Mme Caroline Testout' produces masses of voluptuous, goblet-shaped, double flowers, in shades of bright and cheerful silvery pink, with rolled edges to the petals. The large blossoms (17-25 petals) emit a most delightful and refined fragrance, not in as great volume as some other Roses, but certainly sufficient. They are perfectly displayed against the healthy bluish-green matte foliage and make an impressive display. Very vigorous, Rose 'Mme Caroline Testout' should have an honored place in every garden!

  • Blooming in flushes from late spring to late summer, this Rose is a good repeat bloomer.
  • Grows up to 5 ft. (150 cm) or 10-15 ft. tall as a climber (300-450 cm) and spreads up to 3-5 ft. (90-150 cm). An excellent choice for beds and borders. Plant it where you will be able to enjoy its perfume daily: near a doorway, along a path, near your patio or deck. Excellent cut flowers. Ideal as free-blooming short climber for walls, arbors, fences or other garden structures.
  • Best grown in full sun, in rich, fertile with adequate moisture, well-drained soils.
  • Fairly free from mildew
  • Bred by French hybridizer Joseph Pernet-Ducher in 1890, this Hybrid Tea Rose was bought by a dressmaker, Mme Caroline Testout, who named it after herself and launched it at her showrooms. The Rose became popular and her salons were always decorated with her lovely Rose!
