Rosa Gold Medal® is a vigorous Grandiflora rose with large, 4.5 in. across (11 cm), high-centered, reflexed, deep golden-yellow flowers (40 petals), brushed copper-orange when they open. Borne singly or in rounded clusters, on almost thornless long stems, the blossoms emit a mild fruity fragrance. They bloom in flushes from spring to fall and contrast nicely with the dense, leathery foliage of semi-glossy, dark green leaves. A bushy, well-branched shrub that is hardy, heat tolerant and very disease resistant. Regarded as one of the best American-produced roses of the 80s.

  • Grows up to 5-6 ft. tall (150-180 cm) and 4-5 ft. wide (120-150 cm).
  • An excellent choice for beds, borders, flowering hedges, or containers. Stunning when mass-planted. Excellent cut flowers.
  • Best grown in full sun, in rich, fertile with adequate moisture, well-drained soils.
  • Propagate by hardwood cuttings in autumn or by chip budding in summer.
  • Bred by Jack E. Christensen (United States, 1982).
