Rosa A Shropshire Lad (English Rose)
Noted for its rich, fruity fragrance, Rosa A Shropshire Lad is absolutely ravishing with its large rosettes displaying up to 100 perfectly arranged, soft, and peachy pink petals. Remaining beautiful at all stages, the shallow cup is delicately framed with pale outer petals that are slightly back-turning. Blooming from late spring until frost, it remains attractive throughout, with the flowers holding their perfect shape to the end.

- This David Austin variety of English Rose is related to 'Leander' from which it inherits its health, vigor, and almost thornless growth.
- Featuring bountiful, large, dark green leaves, this tall, robust and reliable shrub is an excellent repeat bloomer whose striking beauty allows it to be treated as a specimen plant in the landscape. It is also a superb addition to the back of the border and can be grown as a climber if tied in to some support, such as a wall, trellis, fence, or pillar.

- Its noteworthy qualities have earned it the Award of Garden Merit of the Royal Horticultural Society in 2012.
- Grows up to 5 feet tall and across (150 cm) and up to 8 feet as a climber (240 cm)
- Best grown in full sun or partial shade, in rich, fertile with adequate moisture, well-drained soils. Tolerates some shade.
- This rose is named after A.E. Houseman’s cycle of poems about his home county, where David Austin rose gardens and nursery are located. Born in Shropshire, David Austin is himself a Shropshire lad.
