Phlox drummondii Cherry Caramel (Annual Phlox)

Phlox drummondii ‘Cherry Caramel’ (Annual Phlox) is an erect annual boasting a profusion of showy, cream-caramel and soft pink flowers adorned with a cherry-pink center. Blooming in flat clusters from summer to fall, the sweetly fragrant blossoms are a favorite of bees, butterflies, hummingbirds and other pollinating insects. Borne at the tips of the stems, they rise above the foliage of small lance-shaped dark-green leaves.

  • Excellent choice for beds and borders, city gardens, cottage gardens, or containers. Good cut flowers.
  • No serious pest or disease issues. Keep an eye out for powdery mildew, stem and bulb eelworm. Deer resistant.
  • Flowers should be deadheaded regularly (to the extent practicable) to promote blooming and growth. 
  • Cut back after flowering. Allow some spent blooms to remain if self-sowing is desired.
  • Propagate by seed.
