It boasts dense clusters of papery, funnel-shaped flowers in summer and early fall. Borne on winged flower stems, the blossoms feature white corollas and showy calyces in shades of violet, lavender, pink, rose, orange, yellow, and white. They rise from a rosette of sinuately lobed basal leaves. Their dry, papery petals retain their color well, making them an excellent choice for fresh-cut flowers or dried arrangements. Attractive to bees, butterflies, and other pollinators, Sea lavender is a relatively easy perennial to cultivate, with few cultural needs. Statice is a good choice for coastal gardens since it is salt tolerant. Excellent for mixed borders, rock gardens, and cutting gardens too.
