Lavandula angustifolia Miss Katherine (Lavender)

Highly fragrant, English Lavender ‘Miss Katherine’ is without question one of the most exquisite pink lavenders. This very distinctive Lavender presents erect domes of spreading foliage and masses of lovely, deep pink flowers with silvery calyces which shine in the sun. The open, dense, and long-lasting flowers, rise high above the aromatic foliage on long stems which spray elegantly outwards.

Highly fragrant, award-winner English Lavender 'Miss Katherine' (Lavandula angustifolia) is without question one of the most exquisite pink lavenders. This very distinctive Lavender presents erect domes of spreading foliage and masses of lovely, deep pink flowers with silvery calyces which shine in the sun. The open, dense, and long-lasting flowers, 3 in. (7 cm), have slight orange throats and rise high above the aromatic foliage on long stems (14-16 in. or 30-40 cm) which spray elegantly outwards.

  • Recipient of the prestigious Award of Garden Merit of the Royal Horticultural Society (2002) for its noteworthy qualities.
  • Blooms once in late spring or early summer. Lavenders blooming once may have a second, smaller flush of flowers during the season and maybe a third one if the flowers are cut soon enough.
  • Evergreen in warm winter climates, it typically grows in a majestic mound of green foliage, up to 24-30 in. tall (60-75 cm)  and 30-36 in. wide (75-90 cm).
  • This Lavender is very versatile and can be used for low hedges, perennial borders, containers, rock gardens or herb gardens. Its fragrant flowers may be dried and used in potpourris. Spectacular effect in mass plantings.
  • Thrives in full sun and performs best in dry to medium, poor, light, sandy, and well-drained soils. Excellent drainage and air circulation are essential, specifically in hot, humid climates.
  • Trim back in spring to encourage bushier growth. Remove spent blooms to encourage new blooms.
  • Toxic to dogs, toxic to cats, toxic to horses.
