The fruit is pleasantly fragrant, thick-skinned, with a short neck and a conspicuous nipple. It is juicy, with a highly sour flavor, and noted for having very few seeds. The fragrant flowers are beautiful with their waxy white petals, tinged purple in bud, and their bundled white stamens adorned with yellow anthers. They shine against the evergreen foliage of ovate, glossy dark green leaves. Flowers and fruit appear throughout the year – most prolifically in late winter, spring, and early summer. Eureka is a heavy yielder and begins bearing fruit early in age. Self-fertile, Eureka ranks as a major variety in most important lemon-growing countries. It makes an attractive landscape or container specimen.
