Noted for its compact size, Bergenia 'Flirt' is a small, clump-forming evergreen perennial boasting erect clusters of bright rosy-pink flowers atop thick red stems in early-mid spring. Very floriferous, a one-year-old plant can have over thirty flower spikes in the spring. They rise above a rosette of upright, thick, glossy leaves. Deep green in spring and summer, the handsome leaves turn bronze-red in fall and winter, providing year-round interest. Low maintenance and easy to grow, this Bergenia selection is ideal for containers, front of borders, and mixed beds.

  • Grows up to 6-10 in. tall (15-25 cm) and 8-9 in. wide (20-22 cm).
  • Easily grown in humus-rich, moist, well-drained soils in sun or part shade. Tolerates a wide range of soil conditions, including poor soils, but dislikes hot, dry conditions.
  • Undemanding and virtually disease-free, this Bergenia is a welcomed addition to beds and borders, cottage gardens, city gardens, or containers.
  • Keep an eye out for slugs, snails, vine weevils, and caterpillars. Deer and rabbit resistant.
  • Remove faded flower spikes
  • Propagate by division or root rhizomes sections in fall or spring
