Luminous in the late spring or early summer garden, Trollius europaeus (Globe Flower) is a charming upright perennial with large, bowl-shaped, lemon-yellow flowers resembling double buttercups. Borne on erect stalks, the attractive blooms are held high above a pillow of deeply divided, dark green leaves. This perennial thrives in damp environments where it creates a wonderful splash of color during its blooming season. Spectacular in mass plantings!

  • Easily grows up to 3 ft. tall (90 cm) and 18 in. wide (45 cm). 
  • A full sun to part shade lover, Globe Flower is best grown in humusrich, consistently moist soils. This plant will thrive in boggy, poorly-drained soils. Dislikes dry soils and hot summers.
  • Globe Flower is very versatile and can be used in moist beds, borders, along streams, ponds, or in bog gardens
  • A low-maintenance plant that is fairly disease and pest free. Watch out for powdery mildew.
  • Cut back after flowering and apply a balanced liquid fertilizer to promote more blooms. Clumps may be easily divided in fall or early spring.
  • Deer and rabbit resistant!
  • Native wildflower of Europe and Western Asia.
