Both useful and ornamental, Thymus ‘Silver Posie’ (Common Thyme) is a bushy dwarf evergreen shrub with a wonderful foliage of white-margined, aromatic, gray-green leaves with a hint of pink on the tips. In late spring to early summer, the plant is smothered in clusters of small, tubular, bright purple to white flowers

Both useful and ornamental, Thymus 'Silver Posie' (Common Thyme) is a bushy dwarf evergreen shrub with a wonderful foliage of white-margined, aromatic, gray-green leaves with a hint of pink on the tips. In late spring to early summer, the plant is smothered in clusters of small, tubular, bright purple to white flowers that are attractive to bees and butterflies. Excellent culinary herb used to flavor chicken, fish, pork, vegetable dishes or stuffing. Can also be used as a ground cover in rock gardens or border fronts or for edging paths and borders.

  • Grows up to 9-12 in. tall (22-30 cm) and 15-18 in. wide (37-45 cm).
  • A full sun lover, this plant is best grown in average to, medium to dry, alkaline to neutral, well-drained soils. Thrives in loose, sandy or rocky soils with excellent drainage. Drought tolerant once established.
  • Excellent choice for beds and borders, city gardens, cottage gardens, Mediterranean gardens or containers.
  • Virtually pest and disease free. Deer resistant
  • After flowering cut back hard using garden shears to retain a neat compact shape. Lift and divide large clumps in early spring.
  • Propagate division or plant rooted basal stem cuttings in spring
