Very floriferous, Rosa Dark Night is a catchy Hybrid Tea rose with large, 4 in. across (10 cm), full (27 petals), dark velvet red, almost black flowers, adorned with creamy-yellow reverses that add luminosity. Lightly fragrant, they are borne mostly solitary and bloom continuously from spring to fall. Their high-centered buds open to form delightful cup-like blooms on the dark green and very glossy foliage. Bushy, upright, handsomely shaped, this beautiful shrub can be used for bed and borders, as a cut flower, or in an exhibition or garden. Above average disease resistance and heat tolerance.

  • Grows up to 4-6 ft. tall (120-180 cm) with a 3-4 ft. spread (90-120 cm).
  • Best grown in full sun, in rich, fertile with adequate moisture, well-drained soils.
  • An excellent choice for beds and borders or containers. Great cut flowers.
  • Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.
  • Bred by Alain Meilland (1940-….) (France, 2008).
