Plumeria – Frangipanis

Native to the American tropics, Plumeria (Frangipani) are deciduous or semi-evergreen shrubs or small trees, grown worldwide for their wonderful fragrances. Blooming most of the year, the flowers flare open to reveal colorful, waxy corollas that can be solid, bicolored, or blushed with tinges of pink and yellow. Plumeria feature gnarled trunks and broad canopies of leathery leaves that are clustered near the tips of thick, fleshy, succulent branches. Handsome additions to tropical landscapes, they readily adapt to container growing.
