Jasminum / Jasmines
Evergreen or deciduous, Jasminum (Jasmine) is a genus of 200 or more species of shrubs or vines that are grown mainly for their star-shaped, white, pink or yellow flowers, which are sometimes intensely fragrant. Their foliage is also very attractive. Some Jasmine varieties are hardy and can be grown outdoors, while others are so tender that they should be treated like houseplants and brought indoors in winter. Easy to grow, Jasmines grow quickly in good soil and bloom more profusely in sunny locations, but all adapt to less than perfect conditions. Grow the climbing species over a trellis, fence, shrub, or archway and enjoy their heavenly fragrance filling the air!
