Hyacinthus / Hyacinths

Rich and heavily fragrant, hyacinths are spring-flowering bulbs that produce gorgeous red, pink, orange, salmon, yellow, purple, white, or blue spike-like flowers that mostly cover their stem with a multitude of florets or bells. They have been developed from Hyacinthus orientalis, a species named already in 1562, and which originates in central and southern Turkey, North Western Syria, and Lebanon. Floating atop erect, lance-shaped bright green leaves, these beauties bloom for 2-3 weeks in mid-spring. Plant them where you will be able to enjoy their perfume daily: near a doorway, along a path, near your patio or deck!
