Dryopteris – Ferns
Dryopteris are elegant, deciduous, semi-evergreen or evergreen ferns noted for their shuttlecock of arching fronds originating from erect or branching rhizomes. They come in a variety of shapes and sizes, from dwarfs for rock gardens to dramatic and architectural plants that are the sentinels of the garden. Like most garden ferns, Dryopteris plants thrive in light shade in evenly moist soils. Once established, they are low maintenance and drought tolerant.
