Cotoneaster

A diverse genus, Cotoneaster can be deciduous or evergreen shrubs or small trees. Some make groundcovers of great beauty thanks to their handsome dark green foliage and large, lustrous red or orange berries that last from fall through winter. Others are tall sprawling shrubs that are perfect for screens, mass plantings or hedges. Covered with small, pink or white flowers resembling opening rose buds in spring, many deciduous cotoneasters also boast brilliant fall color in glowing shades of orange, red, and purple. Tough, easy to grow and deer resistant landscape plants.
