Centaurea / Cornflowers

Centaurea is a vast genus of about 450 species of annuals, perennials, and subshrubs which are grown for their showy thistle-like flowers in shades of pink, yellow, white, and true blue. Easy to grow, they are perfect in borders, rock gardens, as bedding, for naturalizing or at home in a vase.
