In early spring, large, clusters of pink buds open to fragrant, urn-shaped, pendulous, creamy-white flowers. Resembling Lily-of-the-Valley blossoms, the flowers contrast nicely with the shiny, dark green foliage.
- Grows up to 6-8 ft. tall and wide (180-240 cm).
- A sun to part shade lover, this plant is best grown in moist, acidic, humus-rich, well-drained soils.
- Generally pest free. Watch for leaf spot. Deer resistant
- Mass in shrub borders. Perfect as specimen plants, hedges or for foundation plantings. Great with Rhododendrons, ferns, hostas and epidemiums.
- Propagate by softwood cuttings in early summer or semi-hardwood cuttings in late summer.
- Toxic by ingestion. Wear gloves and wash hands after handling
