Pelargonium Americana Salmon (Zonal Geranium)
Pelargonium ‘Americana Salmon’ (Zonal Geranium) is a bushy, evergreen, tender perennial with huge clusters of bright salmon-pink, semi-double flowers, up to 4-5 in. across (10-12 cm). Blooming continuously (if deadheaded), the luminous blossoms are reported to withstand wind, rain and heat better than most.
Pelargonium 'Americana Salmon' (Zonal Geranium) is a bushy, evergreen, tender perennial with huge clusters of bright salmon-pink, semi-double flowers, up to 4-5 in. across (10-12 cm). Blooming continuously (if deadheaded), the luminous blossoms are reported to withstand wind, rain and heat better than most. They are nicely set off by the foliage mound of scalloped leaves, adorned with a decorative bronze ring at their tips. Robust, upright and well branched, this is an excellent Zonal Geranium for borders and containers.
- Grows up to 14-16 in. tall and wide (35-40 cm).
- Performs best in full sun in fertile, well-drained soils. Water regularly during growing season. Drought tolerant, once established.
- Perfect addition to beds and borders or containers.
- Generally disease fee. Watch for glasshouse whitefly, caterpillars, glasshouse leafhopper, aphids, vine weevil and root mealybugs.
- Deadhead regularly. Propagate by softwood cuttings in spring, late summer and autumn.
- Toxic to dogs, toxic to cats, toxic to horses.
