Highly compact, Nepeta nervosa 'Pink Cat' (Catmint) is a bushy perennial boasting dense flower spikes of soft pink flowers borne on erect, unbranched stems. Blooming freely from early to late summer, they rise above a bushy mound of narrowly lance-shaped leaves. Very floriferous, low maintenance, drought and heat tolerant, deer resistant, with a long-lasting season of interest, Catmint is a wonderful garden plant. Plant in large drifts along a walkway to create a garden space that overflows with color and enjoy its mint scent when bruised. Ideal for small gardens or containers!

  • Typically grows in bushy mounds up to 10-12 in. tall and wide (25-30 cm).
  • Enjoys full sun in dry to medium, well-drained soils. Drought tolerant once established.
  • Attractive to butterflies and bees but ignored by deer.
  • Combines beautifully with other perennials in striking color combinations. Very useful and adaptable in the garden. Perfect for mass plantings, beds and borders, edging, groundcovers, coastal gardens, cottage gardens, rock gardens and containers.
  • No serious pest and disease issues. Keep an eye out for slugs and snails or powdery mildews in dry summers.
  • Trim after flowering to keep plants compact.
  • Propagate by seed or by softwood cuttings in early summer or semi-ripe cuttings in early autumn or by division.
