An excellent selection, Lamium galeobdolon 'Hermann's Pride' (Yellow Archangel) is a clump-forming perennial with oval, slender-pointed, sharply toothed leaves adorned with beautiful silver markings between the green veins. In late spring to early summer, whorls of butter-yellow flowers arise from the leaf axils. Well-behaved, this Yellow Archangel does not spread like the species. Striking even when not in bloom, this is a useful plant for filling in shaded areas where little else grows. Great for baskets and window boxes too. Semi-evergreen in warm winter climates.

  • Grows up to 6-12 in. tall (15-30 cm) and 12-14 in. wide (30-35 cm).
  • Best in part shade in average, dry to medium moisture, well-drained soils. Drought tolerant once established.
  • Virtually disease and pest free, Yellow Archangel is also deer resistant.
  • Propagate by division in spring
  • Cut back at the end of the season or to tidy up straggly plants.
