Hosta Revolution (Plantain Lily)

Hosta 'Revolution' (Plantain Lily) is a pretty herbaceous perennial forming an attractive, upright mound of oval, creamy-ivory leaves, up to 8 in. long (20 cm), conspicuously speckled with green. Satiny above and glaucous below, the leaves are adorned with dramatic, wide, dark green margins. Tubular, lavender blooms appear in summer, rising on scapes 24 in. tall (60 cm). Popular for its unusual color pattern.

• A part shade to full sun lover, it is best grown in rich, moist, well-drained soils. Quite sun tolerant with adequate moisture, this plant is not fussy about soils and tolerates a wide range of conditions.

• Watch for slugs and snails which could damage the attractive foliage.
