Hosta Blueberry Muffin (Plantain Lily)

One of the best large blue hostas, Hosta ‘Blueberry Muffin’ (Plantain Lily) is a medium-sized perennial forming an attractive mound of large, thick, rounded blue leaves, that are puckered in unusual patterns. The petioles are speckled with mauve which creates a nice contrast with the blue leaves. Late in the season, the foliage transitions to green. Racemes of lavender flowers appear just above the foliage in early summer. Moderately fast-growing, this blue hosta is a reliable performer in the landscape.
