Hamamelis Brevipetala (Witch Hazel)

Hardy, Hamamelis ‘Brevipetala’ (Witch Hazel) is a deciduous shrub or small tree of upright when young, becoming rounded with age. It boasts dense clusters of fragrant, frost-proof, rich orange-yellow flowers in late winter and early spring. Rich with a strong and spicy scent, each flower consists of narrow, crinkled, strap-shaped petals with red-purple calyces.

  • No regular pruning is required. Simply remove any dead, damaged, or weak shoots. Prune in spring after flowering if you need to control shape and size.
  • Propagate by grafting in late winter, or by budding in late summer.
