Echinacea Sensation Pink (Coneflower)

Noted for its short stature, Echinacea 'Sensation Pink' is a dwarf Coneflower that stands out with its profusion of large, intense pink flowers, 3 in. across (7 cm), adorned with flat, hot magenta pink ray petals surrounding a dark chocolate central cone. As they mature, the vibrant blossoms turn to softer lavender pink shades. Well branched, its numerous dark flowering stems are sturdy and held upright. This Coneflower has a compact habit and provides a breathtaking floral display in the garden from mid to late summer. Perfect for small gardens and containers.

• Grows up to 16-18 in. tall (40-45 cm) and 16-22 in. wide (40-55 cm).
• Thrives in full sun in average, dry to medium moisture, well drained soils. Tolerant of drought, heat and humidity.
• Perfect choice for beds and borders, prairies and meadows, wildflower gardens or cottage gardens.
• Excellent as cut flowers. If flower heads are not removed in the fall, the blackened cones will be visited by birds that feed on the seeds.
• No serious pest or disease issues. Attractive to butterflies, hummingbirds and other pollinators, but deer resistant.
• Remove spent flowers and cut back the stems to encourage further blooms.
• Propagate by division in spring or fall or by root cuttings from late fall to early winter.
