Dracaena marginata Tricolor (Madagascar Dragon Tree)

Slow-growing, award-winning Dracaena marginata ‘Tricolor’ (Madagascar Dragon Tree) is an upright, evergreen shrub with single or multiple, relatively thin stems topped by a rosette of long, ribbon-like leaves. Narrow and arching, the leathery, rich green leaves are striped with cream and prominently edged in crimson.

Slow-growing, award-winning Dracaena marginata 'Tricolor' (Madagascar Dragon Tree) is an upright, evergreen shrub with single or multiple, relatively thin stems topped by a rosette of long, ribbon-like leaves. Narrow and arching, the leathery, rich green leaves are striped with cream and prominently edged in crimson. In the spring, fragrant tiny white flowers bloom and give way to yellow-orange berries. On indoor plants, flowers and berries rarely appear. Colorful, this succulent shrub is commonly used as a houseplant as it tolerates interior conditions very well. It is also listed by NASA as an excellent plant for removing harmful chemicals from the air.

  • Easily grown in well-drained soils in bright, indirect sunlight, or direct morning sun and afternoon shade. Water the plant when the top of the soil feels dry. Apply a balanced liquid fertilizer monthly from spring to fall. Drought tolerant.
  • Best grown in temperatures of 70-80ºF (21-26ºC).
