Strong-growing and free-flowering, award-winning Brugmansia × candida 'Grand Marnier' is an evergreen, tropical shrub or small tree boasting huge, pendulous, trumpet-shaped, soft peach-pink flowers, 12 in. long (30 cm), from midsummer to fall. Sparkling against the foliage of large and glossy, oval, mid-green leaves, the flowers exude an intense fragrance in the evenings. They actively open and close depending on the time of day. This flowering shrub makes a large, dramatic, focal point. 'Grand Marnier' is one of the oldest garden cultivars in Brugmansia, dating from the 1920s.

  • Grows up to 8-10 ft. tall (240-300 cm) and 6-8 ft. wide (180-240 cm).
  • A full sun lover, this plant is best grown in organically rich, moist, well-drained soils. Afternoon shade is appreciated in hot summer areas. Brugmansias are heavy feeders and need regular fertilization during the growing season to promote new growth and flowers.
  • In cool winter areas, grow outdoors in full sun after danger of frost is passed. Grow under glass in full light over winter with a minimum of 45-50°F (7-10°C). In warm winter areas, plant as a specimen. Perfect for beds and borders, Mediterranean gardens or containers.
  • Virtually disease free – watch for glasshouse red spider mite, glasshouse whitefly, thrips and mealybugs under glass.
