Ideal to complement colorful perennials in beds or borders, award-winner Pearly Everlasting (Anaphalis margaritacea) is a rewarding bushy perennial topped with bountiful clusters of long-lasting, buttonlike flowers which are perfect for dried floral arrangements. Small, with golden-yellow disks and pearly white, papery, translucent bracts resembling petals, they are borne on erect stems, clad with lance-shaped leaves that are gray-green on top, white and woolly underneath. Their edges are rolled upward, giving the appearance of silvery margins.

  • Granted the Award of Garden Merit by the Royal Horticultural Society, this North American native perennial grows in upright clumps, up to 2-3 ft. tall (60-90 cm), and spreads 2 ft. wide (60 cm).
  • Blooming from mid-summer to fall, it dies to its roots in winter and springs to life in the spring.
  • Provides color and contrast to beds, and borders. Effective in prairies, meadows, and wildflower gardens.
  • Best grown in full sun or part shade in average, medium moisture, well-drained soils. Prefers full sun and sandy soils. Tolerates dry conditions and poor soils!
  • The flowers are attractive to bees and butterflies, but deer and rabbit resistant!
  • Low maintenance, drought tolerant, it is disease resistant! May spread aggressively in optimum growing conditions.
