Symphoricarpos / Snowberries

Symphoricarpos (Snowberry) are twiggy deciduous shrubs grown for their juicy white, pink or purple berries which remain on the stems after the leaves drop in fall. Clusters of tiny bell-shaped pink or white flowers appear In spring or early summer that are attractive to bees. Native to North America, these plants may be upright or arching, typically 2-6 ft. tall and wide. Tolerant of poor soils, grow them in small groups in open woodlands, shrub borders, naturalistic plantings, and on steep banks for erosion control.
