Kalanchoe
Kalanchoe are easy-care succulents which add bold shapes and color to gardens and containers. Valued for their unusual foliage or their colorful blooms, they belong to a diverse group. Their leaves vary from paddle-shaped (Kalanchoe luciae) to ones that resemble plush rabbit ears (Kalanchoe tomentosa) or fuzzy elephant ears (Kalanchoe beharensis). Their flowers vary from clusters of tiny stars to bean-sized bells. They are available in a wide range of colors, from the brilliant reds, oranges, and hot pinks, to soft corals, pinks, and white. Prized for its long blooming season, Kalanchoe blossfeldiana is a popular, easy-to-grow houseplant. Frost tender, Kalanchoe grow well in full sun or bright light and should be kept on the dry side except when in bloom.
