Hebe Silver Queen

Hebe 'Silver Queen' is a bushy, spreading evergreen shrub forming a dense mound of broadly elliptic, dark green leaves with wide and irregular creamy-white margins. In summer, short spikes of purple flowers appear on the tips of the branches. Attractive to butterflies and hummingbirds, they are stunning in combination with the variegated foliage. However, the main contribution of this evergreen shrub is its brightly colored foliage throughout the year. A great choice as a specimen plant, a low hedge, or the mixed border.

• Typically grows up to 2-3 ft. tall and wide (60-90 cm).
• Thrives in full sun or part shade in any moist, but well-drained soils. Needs a sheltered site protected from both summer heat and winter cold.
• Very versatile, this plant is perfect for edging, beds, and borders or containers. Well suited to coastal gardens or cottage gardens.
• Rarely affected by pests or diseases, it requires little maintenance. Keep an eye out for aphids, tortrix moths, and downy mildew.
• Needs little pruning. Prune lightly removing unsightly shoots as required in mid to late spring. This shrub blooms in summer and late fall on the previous or current year's growth.
