Dasylirion
Dasylirion are evergreen shrubs bearing striking rosettes of long, narrow, spiny-edged leaves ranging in color from dark green to blue-green to silvery. The foliage rosette sits atop a woody stem that can, with age, form a treelike trunk. Native to the deserts and mountains of the Southwest and Mexico, they tolerate dry, rocky, alkaline soil and considerable drought. Easy to grow, they make a ravishing statement in the landscape.
