Chrysanthemum Matchsticks

Adding brilliance to the late season garden, Chrysanthemum 'Matchsticks' is a hardy garden mum sporting profuse and showy flowers featuring spoon-shaped golden-yellow petals adorned with fiery red tips. Blooming from early to mid-fall, the multibranched stems are covered with flowers which stand out against the green foliage. This perennial forms a compact, bushy, upright clump and does not require staking. Easy to grow, it is an excellent choice for sunny borders or containers. Ideal to brighten the fall garden!

• Grows up to 18-24 in. tall and wide (45-60 cm)
• Best flowering occurs in full sun in fertile, well-drained soils enriched with organic matter and general-purpose fertilizer. Water freely in dry weather. Plant in a sheltered location to protect your Chrysanthemum from strong winds.
• Pinch out the growing tip when the plants are 6-8 in. tall (15-20 cm) to encourage free-flowering, bushy plants. Cut back to near ground level in the fall.
• Toxic to dogs, toxic to cats, toxic to horses.
