Amaranthus – Amaranths
Prized for its brightly colored foliage or unusual flowers, Amaranthus is a broad genus of about 60 species of upright or spreading annuals or short-lived perennials. Wonderfully exotic and easy to grow, they thrive in the sun and add drama in the summer garden. Many Amaranthus species produce everlasting flowers that can be used for fresh or dried arrangements. Others are useful as food crops and are grown both for their leaves and for their edible seeds.
