Blooming its heart out, Rosa 'Dusky Maiden' is a charming shrub rose which produces sprays of rich, velvety, dark crimson, single flowers (4-8 petals) lit with golden yellow stamens. Slightly fragrant, they turn brilliant red as they mature and are nicely complimented by the dark green, glossy foliage. This small upright shrub is a good repeat bloomer that deserves a spot in the garden. Bred by LeGrice in 1947, 'Dusky Maiden' has been used by David Austin in his breeding to obtain his line of red English Roses.

  • Blooming in flushes from late spring until frost, this Rose is nicely branched, bushy, and fairly disease resistant.
  • Growing up to 2-3 ft. tall and wide (60-90 cm), this Floribunda Rose is perfect for beds, borders, city gardens, cottage gardens, wall-side, and trellises. Spectacular when combined with the cool blue colors of salvia, nepeta, or lavender.
  • Best grown in full sun, in rich, fertile with adequate moisture, well-drained soils. Tolerates some shade.
  • Bred by Edward Burton Le Grice (1902-1977) (United Kingdom, 1947).
