Among the most important hostas ever introduced, ‘Golden Tiara’ (Plantain Lily) forms a compact mound of broadly oval to heart-shaped, mid-green leaves, up to 5 in. long (12 cm), irregularly margined chartreuse. Over time, the narrow margins change to golden-yellow before fading to cream. Profuse bell-shaped, deep purple blooms appear in summer

Over time, the narrow margins change to golden-yellow before fading to cream. Profuse bell-shaped, deep purple blooms appear in summer, rising on scapes 24 in. long (60 cm). 'Golden Tiara' reportedly has better tolerance for dry soils than most hostas. Sturdy and vigorous, it grows happily in most gardens without special attention. Lovely in containers.
